Apprentice Agricultural Service Technician
Owstwick Depot

Robert D Webster Ltd are New Holland Agriculture and Manitou dealers for East Yorkshire with a wide range of complimentary franchises. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing team as an Apprentice Agricultural Service technician based at our Owstwick depot in Holderness. You will attend college while undertaking work-based training to develop your practical skills.

Key Responsibilities 

Initially Work alongside trained engineers at the depot and onsite to learn the following skills and as you develop you will start to carry out these tasks independently:-

  • Washing and valeting machinery prior to repair/sale
  • Pre delivery preparation of new and used machines to a high standard
  • Service and maintenance of all types of Agricultural machinery
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, Hydraulic, Engine, Transmission, and Mechanical systems 
  • Install, set up and support of GPS Steering/machine control systems
  • Complete accurate records of your work for future reference
  • Good housekeeping of workshop, on-site and premises
  • Attend college one day per week keeping a work diary and complete a portfolio for your work for assessment  

Key personal skills

  • 4 GCSE at Grade 4 or above preferably in Maths, Science, English and DT
  • The ability to work as part of a team, alone and have good social skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • A high level of IT literacy, much of your work will involve computer work for machine diagnostics
  • A love of the outdoors, our work is often outside in all weathers
  • Be prepared to work longer hours, evenings and weekends during busy times to get the job done
  • A Flexible “Can do” attitude to the tasks set
